Experimental results show a strong effect of rapid quenching on the structure of multi-component alluminium alloys containing conventional age-hardening elements (Cu) and transition elements (Mn). Such effects like grain refinement, increase of the solid solubility and many structure and lattice deffects influence the thermo-mechanical properties of AlCuMn alloys.
